Check Out The First Trailer For Playing With Power: The Nintendo Story

[ad_1]

The debut trailer of Playing With Power: The Nintendo Story is here, teasing a deep dive into the history of one of the industry’s most iconic companies. As well as outlining some of the history the documentary will cover, the trailer teases appearances from well-known gaming personalities including Wil Wheaton, Phil Spencer, Alison Haislip, Cliff Bleszinski, and more.

Debuted by IGN, the trailer goes over some of the Nintendo history gamers may already be familiar with, before hinting at a deeper dive into some of the company’s controversies, lawsuits, and notorious failures.

The documentary is written and directed by Jeremy Snead, with Sean Astin acting as an executive producer as well as the series’ narrator. The two teamed up before for Video Games: The Movie in 2014, though that documentary was poorly received by critics–hopefully the duo does better in their exploration of Nintendo history.

The trailer for Playing With Power features cameos from a range of experts including industry personalities, game developers, and video game historians. The trailer features sound bites from the likes of Allison Haislip, Cliff Bleszinski, Brent Bushnell, Natalie Casanova, Will Wheaton, Phil Spencer, and Trip Hawkins, while former Nintendo insiders including Perrin Kaplan, Howard Phillips, and even Reggie Fils-Aimé are set to appear.

The five-part series is exclusive to free streaming site Crackle, where Playing With Power will premiere on March 1. Crackle is currently only available in the US.
